The 2nd Summer Brass Band Concert at East End Park was a great success!

The 2nd Summer Brass Band Concert at East End Park was a great success!  For once the weather was kind and the afternoon was warm and pleasant and the rain held off until after the music finished.

The featured band today was the Altofts & Normanton Brass Band who gave an excellent performance of both old standard Brass Band pieces and newer more modern music.

Refreshments were on offer and these together with a raffle raised £23 for the Friends of East End Park.

As well as those who came to the concert the music was enjoyed by a variety of people also using the park from children playing football, people enjoying a Sunday afternoon walk or others walking their dogs.

As well as those who always attend these concerts we were able to welcome some new people and we hope that for the final Brass Band Concert we will be able to welcome even more people.  The next band concert is on Sunday 21 August at 2.30pm and the featured band is Friendly Brass Band.
