Gearing up for a busy and exciting time in the Park this summer

Once again the very popular Summer Brass Band Concerts are being held in the park this year as well as being sponsored by Cllr Ralph Pryke and Cllr Asghar Khan local people and businesses have also paid for one of the concerts and as usual there will be raffles and refreshments on offer, now all we need to order is the idyllic summer weather!

The Olympic torch is coming through East End Park on the evening of Sunday 24 June at around 7.00pm It will come down Ivy Street and enter the park at the north gate and proceed down Victoria Avenue within the park and leave the park by the south gate where it will cross the railway bridge and head towards Pontefract Lane and as you can imagine this is already causing much excitment in the area.  Come along and see this unique event for yourselves, bring the kids and enjoy the spectacle.

Lark in the Park is also taking place in the park again this summer on 21 July 2012 at 1.00pm.  This splendid event is thoroughly enjoyed by people of all ages and is building in size and popularity every year.  Further details of the delights on offer will be published nearer the date.
